Home Cooked Fried Mee Hoon

It was a long weekend (Labour's Day weekend), so I've decided to cook my (ever famous) fried mee hoon for Vincent He loves it very much, and so does his family. I normally have to cook a whole packet for all of them.

Went to Tesco to buy the ingredients the day before, and only prepared it on Sunday. Preparation was about 15 minutes. Chopping the garlic took up most of the time.


I had to separate 2 times frying to actually finish cooking one packet of mee hoon. So tiring and hot!!


Vincent himself ate 40% of the noodles lol I guess he really loves it! And he's already asking me when is the next time I'll be cooking it again for him... Hmm maybe another 1 month or so Now who says I can't cook?????

Save the dogs!

I received this forwarded email, and was horrified to read about this. Lemme just put in a nutshell - Pulau Ketam residents exiled over 300 dogs to a remote island to survive. The rough conditions is equivalent to death sentence to these dogs. There is nothing for them to feed on, and now hey are just a frame of bones with fur!! With no food, this led them to feed on each others' corpse. The fittest will feed on those could no longer withhold the suffering.

Why can't the Pulau Ketam residents just send these dogs for vasectomy instead? These dogs really don't deserve this treatment. Humans have the option to make their life better, but they just chose the easier and cheaper option. To send them for sterile will definitely cost more... But seriously, dogs have their right to life and option too. How would the residents of Pulau Ketam feel to be stranded on a remote island and starve to death, or feed on each other's corpse?

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

I've always been a fan of X-Men although I've never read the comic. I just watch the movies I'm truly fascinated with their "mutant" concept. Last week was the opening of X-Men Origin: Wolverine, and Vincent managed to buy the tickets.

Needless to say, Hugh Jackman is so hot!! I know he is one of our selected men in our list, and he proved his point yet again in this movie *drool*

With this movie, I found out more about Wolverine's past, and why he does not remember his past. From previous X-Men movies, I thought Wolverine is just a normal human and was turned into a mutant through some experiments. There was an experiment, but it just made his stronger and indestructible.

2 thumbs up for this movie. I love it, and wouldn't mind watching it again, on DVD of course

Chinoz, KLCC

Tea time in Chinoz, KLCC. A breather after a tired round of survey in KL Convention Center. I ordered a Honeydew Juice, and we both shared a Caesar Salad.

Honeydew Juice was okay. It did taste like a 100% fruit juice, no additional sugar or water. The Caesar Salad was okay too. I wouldn't say it's one of the best Caesar Salad though. I reckon the sauce was too little, making it quite dry. But then again, the salad did help with our thirst and tiredness.

Home Dec '09

Yet another home decoration exhibition in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. This time, the exhibition is held from 30th April 2009 - 3rd May 2009.

We arrived around 1pm, and it was already crowded. The parking was full! Vincent the hero thought that most people would be back to their respective hometown, thus, there will be less people, but it's quite the contrary. This would be the most people I've seen for a home decoration exhibition.

We have a new item to survey: A gate. We've seen the internal buildup and there is space for us to install this. We managed to obtained a few brochures for this kinda service. The gate that we want is the wrought iron type. I was a lil bit skeptical about this because from what I've seen, the gate designs are very dull. It looks like a prison cell. But I was surprised to see the designs that are available now! They come in multiple design and with color as well! There was one particular design that I especially like - Sunflower-design gate. This is in light yellow. If all goes well, I think this would be the design that I'll pick.

Another discovery - I found a very modern, futuristic bed frame (I forgot to take a picture of it). It has just the thing I need, a side frame to prevent me from falling off the bed! And it's in black! Just to color I want. But my Pertama comes with bed, so I think I'm gonna have to put this aside first. Sigh...

Vincent was just happy that he found a ceiling fan that he wants to get for the room. It's white in color, and has an Emergency Light. I think this is a bit OTT, so we will prolly just get the white fan without the light.

It was a good visit, with prices slashed and great promotions. It's just too bad that our place is not ready yet. If not, we would have gotten our hands on a few items. Oh well, we will go for the next Home Dec then, which will be on Oct 2009.

Dinner @ Sweet Chat, BTS

We've decided to have light dinner since I have a dozen of Krispy Kreme, and Vincent was going for his weekly futsal. So we thought we'd try the dessert place in BTS.


I'm a fan of tong yuen, hence we ordered a set that comes with it, and 1 main course and a drink. We have the Spaghetti with Black Pepper Chicken, the Blue Ocean beverage, and Tong Yuen with Ginger Soup.

Food was so-so. The whole set was RM17.90, which is not bad I guess. I love the Tong Yuen though! The texture was just right, and the filling was not bad too.

I wouldn't mind ta pau-ing the Tong Yuen next time

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is finally in town!! Their first store is in Berjaya Times Square, KL (where Dome used to be located).

I've heard about this doughnut madness and how my friends who have tried them raved about these tiny ring-shaped cake. I was there in BTS and thought I would just drop by Krispy Kreme and have a look myself, and since I was there, I might as well get my hands on some.


Obviously there was a queue, though it was not really long. Reckon there was about 15 or so in front of me in the line. Vincent could never understand the need to queue for food. He is never one to queue


Took me about 30 minutes to reach the counter. Once arrived, a staff was there to greet me and introduce the doughnuts to me. She recommended a few flavors and as I was new to this, I let her pick up a dozen doughnuts for me. I excluded the Green Tea and Strawberry. Total bill for 12 assorted doughnuts = RM23.90.

And as heard from many, these doughnuts do live up to their reputation! It was delicious! For me, doughnuts must have the accurate level of sweetness, and KK did it. They were just right, not too sweet, but sweet enough to make me asking for more. Of course I couldn't finish all 1 dozen. My recommended flavor - Hershey Cookies & Creme, and Vincent's favourite is the Cheese Doughnut (forgot the name). Do try it for those who have not!
