Yet another team building

No, not my team building session. This is for Vincent's team building. It was on 31st Oct 2009 at the garden next to Ampcorp Mall, PJ (I forgot the name). Vincent "volunteered" my help as the photographer of the day (without asking me beforehand, I must add)

It rained heavily the night before and was still drizzling in the morning. It was such a good weather to sleep in but I had to wake up at 6am! Luckily, the rain stopped right after we had breakfast. The weather was just perfect - both for outdoor activity and for photography!

Let the game begin!















Here I got involved because one of the tasks was to show "love" (dunno if it only applies to team members or not), so this was sorta helpful thing I did for Vincent's team LOL


After 2 hours of (exhausting) treasure hunt, it is over. Closing speech from their boss.


The winner was Team 3. They received cash voucher from Jusco.



Second place was Team 2.


Third place was Team 2, but they received cash vouchers because they won the Best Team prize.


It was a tiring, but fun-filled day. We headed to the Ipoh Chicken Rice at Gasing for lunch, and called it a day. I went back home and dropped to sleep for the next 3 hours! Freaking tired... I guess I'm too old for this huh?

The Lord of the Key

To myself and my fiance, the most important and valuable key to start our lives together is the Pertama Residency house key. We bought the place way back in Aug 2007, and after of 2 years waiting (in agony), we finally got our hands on the precious key! Whee!!


We received the letter from the developer notifying us of the collection of key and vacant possession on 29th Oct 2009, but at that time, we are unable to collect the key because we have to wait for the bank to disburse the final payment and settle the late interest payment issue.

On the 3rd Nov 2009, Vincent went to the developer to settle the deposit and miscellaneous fee. We tried to argue on the late interest payment, but the developer insist that they must receive the payment before they hand us the key. For the bank to investigate, it will take freaking forever! So we've decided to fork out the money ourselves.


Done with the developer, it was then up to the efficiency of the bank to disburse the payment. Vincent made a call to them on Monday, and we received good news! Money has been forwarded to the developer, and appointment was made to collect the key today! Yet another historic day - 11.11.09 - The day we collect our key!


We arrived at 10.30am and was brought to our unit. I was so excited! My very first house! Mine! Erm well, technically, it's OURS! But still... Our own place!

We checked the place thoroughly, and also the furniture. There were some minor cracks at the kitchen wall, and there was no water once we flush the toilet bowl. Other than that, everything was pretty fine. I guess we are lucky because we heard some units were complaining about worse things.


We settled the rest of the paperwork, and our car park. They gave us this house rules (which I have not read). We stopped by our swimming pool area and it looks FAB! Fantastic scenery, and there is a pool table where we can hold parties and gatherings. Looks like a good place to hold the house warming


I did took a few pictures of our unit, but I won't post it up (yet). Lemme get it done and then I'll post it up, I promise!

Good news to share. One of my best friends is pregnant!

LOL it's so weird! We started our journey as teenager together when we met in Form 3, and through all ups and downs, we have been friends for 11 years! We've cramped for exams, laughed, cried, and share everything... Now she's pregnant! OMG! *sob sob* (happy tears)

Congrats to her and her husband! I'm really happy for them!

Here's wishing them a healthy baby!

The chosen auspicious dates!

Chinese believes that with the auspicious dates, they will be blessed with health, good fortune, and good luck. To choose our auspicious dates, both our date of births from the Lunar Calendar with our birth time were taken into calculating which date would be best for us.

Coming from a superstitious family (dad is a businessman), I want to have an auspicious date for both the house warming and wedding. Vincent's parents said that Vincent was adopted by this "Wong Dai Dai" in a temple in Seapark when he was a baby. So we have to go back to that place to get the dates. We went there last Sunday. This is actually the first outing I have with his parents LOL!


Upon arrival, we fufill our duties with prayers. It's been awhile since my last visit to a temple. I used to go to temples more often when I was living with my dad.


These are actually the "Fu" - Piece of paper with chants to wrath of evil or cure sickness. There is this practice where this paper is burnt in a glass, pour water in it, and drink it.

They gave us a couple of dates for both our house warming and wedding. We told them our preferences first, i.e. which month we would prefer to have it, and they gave us a few options to work around.

Once we have decided which date, Vincent's parents have to go back to this place 3 months prior to our wedding dates. They will need to get the timing, the list of offerings, and the to-do's for the wedding.


Now that we have the dates for our house warming and wedding, we will move to the next step. For the house warming, we have 2 dates to select, which we will decide depending on the renovation progress... While for the wedding, we will decide based on the availability of restaurant. Chikuyo Restaurant

Since I'm a vegetarian, Vincent had to follow me for vegetarian dinner last weekend. We found a vegan restaurant at the Curve, called Chikuyo.


It's location is rather difficult to locate. If it is not because of their poster and my need to have vegan food, I will not look for this place. But since I'm on a new diet, I had to have my dinner here.


Surprisingly, there were quite a number of patrons here. Almost 50% of the table is occupied, and it was only 5pm. There is this "Tea Station" that is quite special. It's called the tea station, though the deco doesn't really display any station.


I ordered the Fried Crystal Noodle - RM8.00. Very tasty, and healthy! Even Vincent liked it!


I felt like eating something buttery... So I ordered the Butter Prawn with Chili - RM15.00. The "prawn" really did looked like prawn! I'd thought it would be just flour with some coloring to make it look alike, but this is quite different. It was actually mengkuang wrapped with bean curd. Very different from others!


Vincent ordered the Fried Plain Long Bun (RM3.50). He was tired with all the flour and fried stuff from the vegan varieties, so he had this. This was very good too! Yummy and crispy!


Overall, food is not bad with reasonable pricing. Hmm I guess I will only come back if I'm a vegan... If not, I'd go for other restaurant at the Curve.

Sing our hearts out

The ME Marketing Department had our team building / activity on 23rd Oct 2009. Thanks to one of our colleagues, the activity that was selected was karaoke at Green Box, Sg Wang.

Since there were so many of us, boss booked 3 rooms, and naturally, the rooms were separated into by "language" - Chinese songs, Malay songs, and English songs. No point for guessing which room I was in.

For the Chinese and Malay room, everyone was singing, but for the English room, nobody wanted to sing. There was actually 1 pathetic microphone on the table not utilised. Sigh... Only Rock Chic and I sang the whole time.


Singing is definitely not our thing... As shown by Mr. Nutella. Dancing is more for him, esp MJ style. Damn gaya rite?! LOL!

I think it's only fair that Rock Chic & I thank those who came to our "concert". Thanks for the support, and obviously thanks to Mr. Nutella for being a great backup singer (one that sings without mic).

Why the sudden blog on the sexiest vegetarian?

I have become a vegetarian.
Read again: I am now a vegetarian. Why? Well, it is a vow I've taken. I will be a vegetarian until Moniq comes home healthily. It is the least I can do for her.

I have been going green for almost a week now. Other than finding it harder to look for food, nothing much has changed. I thought that I would have craving for meat, but surprisingly, the craving is not as bad... Actually, almost none. I went for chicken rice the other day with Vincent's colleagues, but I didn't feel like eating the chicken at all. Yes, there is the slight lust for the Roasted Pork, but it's not very bad.

I feel "lighter" now... Am not saying I lost weight, but just feel that I won't have the icky, oily feeling of overeating a meal.

People say that the temper will tend to get better to after being a vegetarian... I'll have to keep a look out for this.
