C-Jade Express

I used to think that this place is like a fastfood outlet... Whereby you have to queue to get your own food. That is why I've never visited this place. After a round of shopping, I just wanna sit, relax and chill. I don't wanna waste my energy to wait, queue and wait again. So when I found out that we don't have to queue for this place, I OK-ed it.

Yet another one of the HK-based restaurant that serves HK dishes and the deco is HK-style.

The menu - Very economical... Just a piece of paper on the table.

HK ever famous Cart Noodle - RM7.30

Twin BBQ Meat Rice - RM10.80

They have this standing display at their restaurant. Finger food, and though I would like to try everything, but can't... Sigh...

BBQ Pineapple Bun - RM1.50

Egg Tart - RM1.50

The new Lot 10 foodcourt

For those who haven't already know, the Lot 10 foodcourt downstairs have been under renovation for quite some time. Recently, it has reopened with a breathe of fresh idea (food).

Rumor has it that the chairman of YTL has collected and invited some of the best local food and have them open a stall in this foodcourt.
Some of it includes the Petaling Street porridge, Petaling Street tai chow, Lam mee, beef noodle, etc.

There's just too much to try but we were there after working hours, and most of it were already sold out (!). I saw the lam mee stall is still open for business, so I decided on that.
Not a fan of lam mee, but this dish got me wanting for more! It is delicious! Really recommended!

Vincent ordered wan tan mee with roasted duck. I like the wan tan noodle. It somehow feels very "homemade"... not too commercialised.
The duck was just OK.

We will definitely pay a next visit there very soon to try the other offers there. They all look so scrumptious!

Birthday celebration @ Weissbrau

Yet another birthday celebration. This time, it is for Uncle Kin Mun. This old uncle who sits next to me is finally 1 year away from the big 3-0! Place of celebration was at a new German restaurant in Pavilion called Weissbrau.

The starter, which was FOC hehehe!

I ordered this... It's some sorta German style pasta.

This is Rocker Chic's. Her signature look - Fingernail shot.

Mr. Penguin's dinner.

The rest of them ordered this to share. This sausage is actually HUGE! I can't illustrate it in this picture, but it was huge! When this was served, dirty (unwanted) jokes come as a side dish as well.

The ever-famous German Pork Knuckle.

Combo of sausage. Check out the meat. It looks pretty raw huh?

I dunno what is this, but the soup was very delicious!

The birthday boy (uncle) with LP.

Happy Birthday KM! Birthday cake for him.

The gift that we bought for him... Just in case his current wallet runs out of space for his ever increasing cash and incentives!

That's us!

Overall, it is a good place to chill out. Some of them said they can find better tasting German food. But this place is always crowded. I should bring Vincent here and try the food.

To 2009!

Boss was out of office for 3 days starting 9th December 2009 and it was KM's birthday, so we popped a bottle of red wine in the office, after working hours of course! The red wine was a contribution from Li Ping, as she has gotten it from one of the month end drinks.

Don't take us for alcoholics! We just felt like celebrating as we just had our Xmas party, and Nutella was leaving for India. Obviously we don't have a wine opener in the office, but then again, when there is a will, there is always a way! This is how Nutella opened the bottle.

Mr. Nutella - Impersonating Shy Flirt in the office. The delusional alcoholic a.k.a. Mr. MJ impersonator.

Cheers to 2009! We had a great year, and here's toasting to a better year for all! Better wealth, health and happiness!

Cupcake Chic

This is a yet another overdue post. For Vincent's birthday last month, there was no cake for him cos we were very busy with the house renovation. He doesn't mind it cos he is no fan of any cake, but I have to have cakes for birthday... Somehow, it feels more complete.

Since he is not a fan of cake, I've decided to buy cupcakes instead! I've heard the buzz about the Cupcake Chic in Pavilion, and the other day, after work, I went over and bought it.

There were many flavors and varieties to choose from. Obviously, for someone new, I have to go with their basic cupcake, and got the "Back to Basics" - Vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. If I'm not mistaken, it was RM4.50 for a cupcake. It was good! I have a sweet tooth, especially for cakes. I really love this, and the vanilla flavor is oh-so-delicious!

The other cupcake I bought was "Cookies and Cream" - Cookies and cream with vanilla frosting.
The cookie on top was not up to standard... It was too soft cos it was displayed for too long. The cupcake is however, not too bad. It's not too sweet, and the vanilla frosting is really good.

You can go to their website for a completed view of their store and their menu. The cupcakes look so cute! I will be going back for a second round soon. And this really inspire me to bake my own cupcakes!

Christmas Party planning

Since this year we have our own house, both Vincent's friends and my friends suggested to have the Xmas party celebration at our place. Well, all is nice, until I start to think about the preparation I have to go through, and the cleaning and packing after the party! *panic*

For my friends, last year, we had our Xmas celebration at JT's house. It was a pot luck thing, and we randomly picked a person's name to give a Xmas gift to. This year, it is the same concept (final details to be finalised), except that it will be at my home! *excited* I'm not worried about my friends cos they are smaller in group, and they are more "responsible" (read: ladies, take note ;p). I know they will help clean up and wash the dishes, and make sure everything is as tidy as before before they leave. That's pretty much taken care of.

Now, the only worry I have is Vincent's friends. They are bigger in group, and erm... How should I put it? More "playful" and "violent"? LOL! I have a long list of to-do's for this group, which I have listed in my new 2010 planner. The plan for now is to draw up a detail plan and execute it!

Oh and I have yet to purchase any of the gift for the exchange gift time! Dammit! Yet another item to add to the list of to-do's. Sigh wish me luck!

Dinner + Birthday celebration

On 5th Dec 2009, we had dinner at Hee Lai Ton Restaurant in Puchong. This is the place where the (now pregnant) couple, Jek Chee and Pui Kuan had their wedding reception. There was extra payment for a table, so we went to this restaurant to have dinner.

They have booked a room for this dinner, with 2 tables. Their voucher only covers a table, so we split the other table's bill. Before the dinner, it is picture time - Us, the girls while the dudes talk nonsense, as usual.

Papa Hui and Mama Xian Pin brought along their baby Torres. Look how much he has grown! He is now 8 months old!

We "borrowed" the baby and took a "family" picture LOL! OK-lar... Got potential lar hahaha!

Baby Torres is one cheeky baby! He has this habit that keeps sticking out his tongue, and a cheerful baby! He lets anyone carry him and take picture with him.

The food for that night - As usual, the 9-course dinner.

This is one of the bottles of red wine we brought for the dinner. This wine actually tasted not bad - Not too fruity, yet not too dry. *Note to self: Must stock up this bottle *

It's the December birthday babies - N.G. and Uli. Birthday cake was prepared, and birthday babies must demonstrate the "right" way to drink red wine - which is to drink from the bottle.

That's us! (Almost) All of us! With the new baby Torres, and junior baby of Pui Kuan and Jek Chee. Thanks for this couple for the lovely dinner!

Yet another great night out with fab companion!
