Happy New Decade

Other than having the Xmas celebration at our new place twice, we had the New Year celebration as well. I guess being older does "mellow" one. Last time, we used to go to BB or Bangsar for countdown ignoring the horrible traffic and overly-crowded venue. Now, that idea seems so ridiculous and nobody would wanna suggest that at all.

To ring in the NY of 2010, we had dinner together at a restaurant near our place. Initial plan was to have dinner in KL at some fancy restaurant, but we dread the traffic in KL area by the time we are done with dinner. So, to keep things simple, we have dinner at this restaurant.

After the dinner, Vincent's friends came to our place for the countdown. Hui Peng brought along her mini mahjong and got 2 players to join her, and her "husband" got the other dudes to play roulette using their i-pod.


Our first NY celebration as husband and wife hehehe!


About 10 minutes to 12am, we gathered around our bedroom as it overlooks the KL view. We all waited patiently for the fireworks, and at the stroke of midnight, the fireworks happened!


For the first time, we witnessed fireworks in different places (although we can't figure out who is lighting the fireworks)! Pops of vibrant colors filled the sky that night, coupled with the KLCC Twin Tower and KL Tower view. It was just awesome!

Cafe Stelle by Raffles

Went shopping the other day in Pavilion. As usual, Vincent was tired after a while and wanted to take a break. As we were thinking where to chill, we stumbled across this cafe on level 2 of Pavilion, which is in front of Prada. We've always wanted to try this but always forgot about it. Now, the timing is just right! We went straight in.

The name of the cafe is Cafe Stelle by Raffles. The place is super crowded with people chilling with their drinks and hi-tea. We could only get a seat at almost the end of the cafe.


This cafe is smacked right in the middle of the couture/branded shops on level 2. The cafe's design is long, and it has a runway in the middle of the cafe. Ambience was just perfect! I get to enjoy the air-cond, and get to step inside the shops while waiting for our food to arrive!


They were having promotion on their hi-tea set. RM 50 nett for a set for 2. At that time of the day, they do not serve anything else except for beverages, so we took that set.


The set came with either coffee or tea. Ironically, we both ordered coffee. It was served with fresh warm milk and brown sugar. I asked if there is refill but was told that there is no refill for coffee but they do refill for tea. WTH...


It took them quite a while to serve us our food. They were very busy cos it was a full house. Finally, when the tray of food came, we were so excited hahaha! Everything looks delicious! Every dish was served in 2 so each of us get our equal share. Their sandwiches are really good! By the time I finish that, I was too full to have their sweet servings, especially the cake.


This was served as well for the food.


It is indeed a good place to relax. I wouldn't mind going again the next time we need to unwind on our shopping trip.

Gift from my boss

This is definitely something worth blogging. At least when I look back, it will bring back memories.

It was only half day work on the eve of Xmas 2009. My boss gathered us around and he gave a speech on the close of a year and how it has been for us. Then, he said he got all of us something! Shocked, we all perk our eyes and ears to see what it was.

That's my boss. I told him to hang on while I get my colleague to take a photo of this historic moment LOL!


Curious with what he gave each and everyone of us, all of us were so excited! The box that he gave me has my name on it, personally written by him.


After opening the box (a size of a mascara), it was a PEN in the box. Brand is Caran d'Ache. I've never heard of this brand before. Boss said we can buy the ink refill at their shop, which he won't mention where and warn us not to complain on how costly it will be for the refill.... Hmm...


Well, I googled the brand and found this from their website:

Damn! Then I know that it is a freaking expensive brand, and found out that the have a shop in Pavilion. The pen that boss brought was the Astrologie Ballpoint pen. It has all the zodiac sign and date of birth. Mine below has my birthday! This is my very own personalised zodiac pen!


Other than the date of birth, it has the picture of your individual zodiac sign! Mine is the lion (Leo).


I love my new pen! I tried the pen and it was really smooth. You can really feel the difference when you write with this pen! For those who always in need of a good pen, you know where to get it now!

Wedding stress

I never thought I would be facing this, but I am. When you least expect it, it bites you (hard) on your face! Dammit!

I thought everything about my wedding would be quite simple with minimum planning and scheming... But I thought wrong. Sigh I am facing so much trouble now, I think I might not be able to get what I want for my wedding done in time. Or maybe I'll just get something that's 2nd best.

You dream about your perfect wedding, down to the minor details. I have to say, reality is (so) far from it. With only 8 months left ( I thought I have more time than this!), I am beginning to feel the stress (and downside) of planning a wedding.

I've thought about getting a checklist, but fark that... Can never be discipline enough to follow it. I wanted to do everything myself, to DIY everything since it's my wedding, and always thought wedding planners are a waste of money. But then again, I might consider hiring 1 since this is taking up too much of my time and brain cells.

I have venue, bridal studio, makeup artist, photographer, videographer, Chinese customary tradition, etc to worry about. Even listing out my problems seems never ending, what more to solve it! Of course, nothing beats family problem... Sigh... HELP! *suffocating*

Xmas party with the Gals

For our 2nd round as host for the Christmas of 2009, we have invited my best friends to come over. We have started our very own gift exchange in the spirit of Xmas last year at JT's and YT's. This year, it is my new home.

We have a pot luck session. Since Lisa said Western is so passe, we cancelled any spagetti or pasta. Lisa actually brought "tai chow"! The cake that Blay brought was absolutely delicious and so sinful! I ate so much of the cake! It was really really good! She said she bought it from a shop in Bangsar and it costs RM10 for each.


For the gift exchange, it was a little different this year. We all submitted our very own wish list, and each of us will have to buy what the person has requested. We did set a budget to get the items, and it is up to the Santa to get what his/her elf has requested. I guess this way, it is much easier, and we all get to have what we want... Which is awesome!


The weirdest and funniest wish list was Francis'. He actually asked for flowers and chocolates for Xmas! LOL! And the top of the icing was his Santa is Kevin! It was so weird what a guy is giving another guy a bouquet of flowers and chocolates!

I requested for hair straightener but my Santa can't get anything good at the price range fixed, so he gave me cash instead hahaha! Thanks JT! Vincent requested for futsal shoe, and Blay got him a pair of shoes... But Vincent said he can use it for his badminton sessions.


In true Xmas spirit, Beatrice has asked us to put in the effort to wrap our gifts cos there will be a gift for the best wrapped present. How sweet! Hahaha! We all have decided that Francis should win it since he DIY-ed the wrap and also the decorative flower. The price was a box of chocolates (again!) hahaha! We opened it and ate it immediately since Beatice claimed it is the bestest chocolates ever!


It was a really fun night. Although we didn't get to swim this time, I hope we will be able to swim next time! Wish Tze and Mae was here to join us tho.

Xmas-Party-cum-Open-House

As my ROM pictures will only be ready by next week, I'll upload those then. For now, I'll keep posting on the happenings in Dec 09. It feels good to look at these pictures hehe!

For Xmas eve of 2009, we host our first ever Xmas party at our new home. I spent the day cleaning and getting the food ready for everyone. It was a Xmas-party-cum-open-house. Our guests are only Vincent's friends. We have decided to separate group by group for easier handling. This is our last Xmas together as bf/gf and fiance/fiancee. Then, it will be celebrated as husband and wife.


The food we bought for the dinner. We rented the swimming pool area so that we won't have to clean up too much mess.


And what is a party without alcohol? This gang only drinks red wine nowadays. For that night, they finished 12 bottles of red wine!


Cute lil baby Torres joined us for this joyous celebration. LOL he's so cute!


The dudes went for a brief swimming activity and tried out the jacuzzi. The water was so cold that night. Luckily, the water at the jacuzzi was warm.

It was gift exchange time. Total participants and gifts was 19. The gifts were numbered and everyone will draw a number, which is not to be announced. Then, each of them has a change to exchange the number with anyone. Once everyone is done, each of us collected our gifts.


The gifts for the year of 2009. With the budget of RM55 (max), it is really difficult to get something that suits everyone. I got a battery charger, and Vincent got a speaker. We have no idea what to do with it so far. But then again, we can't complain cos some of them got the weirdest gifts ever! LOL!

Ring in the New Year bell & Wedding bell!

Wow! It's 2010! Yet another year has passed. My, time do fly! The year of 2009 seems so far, yet it just felt like I rang in the New Year of 2009.

What happened to 2009? Or rather, what has happened in 2009? Some of the memorable happenings:

1) We bought our 2nd house
2) Vincent proposed to me
3) My dad and I are on "talking" terms
4) We got our key to our home
5) I went from the status of SINGLE to ENGAGED to MARRIED!

What to expect in 2010? Some of it are:

1) Our wedding!!
2) Bangkok trip
3) Honeymoon

I thought 2009 is the year that I will be saving for all the events in my life... Hmm seems like 2010 is yet another saving year ahead for all these. Sigh... I'll have to tell the Ferragamo bag to wait for me for another year before I can bring it home...

While we are already in 2010, I am still trying to digest the fact that I'm MARRIED! Thanks for all the wishes and SMSes peeps! I really appreciate it! And thanks to my ji muis for coming! The pictures are coming up next. I'm still editing it and waiting for the rest of the pictures from my photographer.
