According to hubby, there is this very rundown and old coffee shop along Jalan Loke Yew that is absolutely tasty! He mentions it almost every time we drive pass the place. So finally, we visited the place a few weekends ago.
The coffee shop is divided into 2 sections - One is really old fashioned and has no air cond, while the other is more polished and newer with air cond. At 11am, the newer shop was already packed to the brim.
We both ordered their specialty, which is the Dried Wan Tan Mee. They serve other stir-fried noodle dishes, which were quite popular amongst the patrons. This egg noodle they used were very tangy and has a strong egg fragrant! Tastes like it was traditionally handmade.
The Wan Tan Mee came with dumplings, and it was huge! Not only that, there was a total of 6 dumplings per bowl. Very generous of them.
For our side dish, we ordered Roasted Pork and also Honey BBQ Pork (Char Siew). The Roasted Pork was a disappointment. It was cold, chewy and just purely a let down since my expectation was set high.
Now, the BBQ Pork is a different story altogether. It was crispy, yummy and just delicious! I reckon it is as good as the one in Canton-I! It was not overly sweet... It was just tastefully done! This is recommended.
Will come here again next round.
