Meatworks @ Solaris

Last month, we were thinking real hard on where and what to eat. Did research online but could not find any that serves our taste buds.

Then suddenly, I thought of this place - Meatworks @ Solaris.

We made a call earlier just in case if it's crowded since it was a Sunday and it was the Ramadhan month. When we got there about 7pm, it was quite empty.

Ambiance was great... White furniture frame the cosy restaurant. They have this freezer that sells fresh meat like they do in supermarkets.

Hubby ordered the rejuvenating Watermelon Juice.

Our appetizer - Onion Soup Gratinee (RM17). It is a caramelized onion and beef broth served with Gruyere toast. The plentiful amount of onion really brings out the taste of this broth.

This is hubby's main course - BBQ Spared Ribs (3 Ribs - RM50). The menu claimed that the ribs were braised and barbequed to tender perfection... And I say perfection it is! Definitely recommended to ribs lovers.

As I am avoiding beef, I ordered the Roast Chicken (1/4 chicken - RM20). I didn't expect them to serve me with the drum part... And I actually wanted the breast part but whatever. I ain't making a fuss.

"A spit-roasted chicken served with organic vegetables from Cameron Highlands" was described in the menu. I have no comment on the organic vegetables, but it is definitely roasted to the best!

mywedding.com website updated

Just a while ago, Uli was asking me about my mywedding.com website updates... And I was like "Crap I totally forgot about the existence of this blog!". It has completely slipped my mind! Also, I have no time to update this blog, let alone another blog.

And then she said "Just update pictures lar!"... which is cool and pretty simple I guess.

So here I am, already done updated mywedding.com website with more pictures... And here are the latest set of pictures that I've uploaded in the website. These are the pictures taken from our pre-wedding photoshoot in April.

Here we are - Preparing ourselves. The whole process took over 2 hours! We started at about 9am and only finish at about 11++.

First location with the first outfit is @ Pavilion. We arrived at about 12pm and shoot for about 2 hours.

Then, we made our way to 2nd location - Heritage Hotel. We have to pay RM50 to shoot here, but we got ourselves a room to change. I remembered it was pretty cloudy at that time and the photographer was having a difficult time trying to get the natural lighting to our pictures.

We then changed to our 3rd outfit and the PG took us to this place I've never seen before. There were cables of trains as our background, but there were a dozen workers working and lifting boxes as we posed and smiled LOL! Man that was corny!

Then, we headed to KTM. Apparently we have to pay RM100 to have our photos taken here.

Now, we move on to the 2nd day. Location - PD. Before heading to PD, we had some photoshoots in the studio.

Wedding game plan

It is officially the month of September... My wedding month!

Finally! After a long wait, it is finally here.

Everyone has been asking me how do I feel as my wedding draws closer... Honestly, I don't feel as excited as I thought I would or should be. Maybe it's because I've been anticipating for this date for far too long... or I'm just another cliche bitch LOL!

Technically, I'm married... These things in September are all for tradition sake. I'd guess I would really enjoy myself and be super ecstatic if things would have gone smoothly with me dad. Yes, it's the problem with the dad again! I know... I myself am getting tired talking about this.

One thing that I'm VERY looking forward to is my honeymoon! YAY! 2 weeks of holiday to the romantic Europe! And shopping! Double whoopie!

Will be super duper extremely busy this month. This is my schedule so far:

- First round to Matta Fair to survey for honeymoon packages, backup plan and also next year's trip
- Meeting with Shangkar from Bankers Club to finalise on the preparation for dinner reception

So far, this is what I have planned. I'm sure tho that there will be something that crops up and find a way to annoy me and stress me out. Well, I guess I have to find a way to deal with all these and get it over and done with.

Sigh... yes, I really wanna get this over and done with cos I'm so fed up preparing for the wedding, but yet, on the other hand, I don't want it to come too fast cos when it's over, I have no more wedding to look forward to, and I know I will miss this preparation feeling. Dilemma!

Partee @ Gsix

It's party time!

One of hubby's brothers birthday was just last Saturday, and one of them suggested that we go to Gsix in Mid Valley Gardens. Since I've never been there before, why not?

We started dinner at Yuzu in MV Gardens before that. Of course, going for dinner with this group is like feeding a pack of hungry wolves. You can never snap any picture cos once the food is served, it goes to their stomach almost immediately.

After dinner, we headed to Gsix at around 10.15am. After long deliberation, we finally got ourselves a decent table. The place was as crowded as we heard about it!

Anyhoo, we partied hard that night! Absolutely a fantastic night out! Woo-hoo!

Yummy mooncake

Although it's now the Hungry Ghost Festival, I've gone to get mooncake to celebrate the mooncake festival. I know it's a little bit too early, but I was really stressed out with the wedding preparation and I needed a break. So I got off from work early the other day and ran to Pavilion to get my favourite mooncake brand - The Baker's Cottage.

This year, The Baker's Cottage didn't have any collaboration with any credit card merchant, so no discount. Since hubby was late, I took my time to choose the mooncake that I want.

Actually, I was buying this to give it as a gift to my in-laws. But of course, I would wanna try it too and hubby said we can eat it with them. This way, it is better cos we won't have to eat too much.

And hubby was right. His mum insisted that they can't finish the whole thing, and asked us to cut the mooncake to half and bring it back for ourselves LOL! So we did just that!

My first choice and highly recommended by the sales assistant - the Grand Ruby. This is the new mooncake promoted by the Baker's Cottage. And I have to say... This is absolutely the bomb! Really! Go try this!

We get this flavor every year - Tiramisu. This is hubby's favourite. Fancy having something so western mix with something so Chinese.

This is my first time trying this flavor - Precious Black. It apparently uses the black charcoal. The sales assistant claimed that this flavor was a sold out last year. I really like this too... Not as sweet... Just nice.

Every year, hubby will ask for favor from his ex-colleagues to obtain discount for mooncakes from Tai Thong, and this year, it is no different. We bought 3 boxes for my parents, and also hubby's uncle and auntie.

We've finished the 3 of half mooncakes we bought back... And I'm already starting to miss the Grand Ruby... Hmm I might just drop by Pavilion soon to get it again.

Pre-wedding shot @ Pavilion, KL

To take this shot is not an easy task, and not a very typical "wedding" pose... Quite controversy LOL! Some saw this and went "Woah!!"! Hahaha!

It was very challenging to us cos I have to bend all the way down and hubby had to support my weight YET looking comfortable and enjoying it. After bending down and adjusting to the correct angle, we have to hold that pose and focus on our facial expression before the photographer click on the camera. After that, when I got up, I remembered that my back was aching! LOL too old for this man!

Anyhoo, I'm just overjoyed and thrilled!

1st DIY Project

For my wedding, I thought I'd be a little adventurous and do my very first DIY. I'll be doing a "Wishing Tree" for my wedding reception. What it is exactly? It's a "tree" to hang the wishes that my guests will write on.

These are the materials that we've brought for our project:

Initially, hubby was very reluctant to do this cos it's too much extra work... But after much coaxing, he lent his helping hand LOL! We've modified the "Wishing Tree" to our convenience, and we're not halfway through. Will post up the picture once it is done.

Fingers crossed, this will turn our as the way we've imagined and planned it to be.
