Hubby's 2010 Birthday!

Hubby's 29th birthday has passed... And this big kid is already 29 years old this year... But still acting like a child sometimes LOL!

I ordered the only cake he will EVER eat, which is Haagen Dazs (HD) ice cream cake. So a week before his birthday, I made a call to HD in KLCC to order the design with the flavor I want. Hubby's favourite is the one and only Rum n Raisin. But I was told that they can't make a cake with this flavor, so I chose another one - Cookies n Cream. The design is these 2 ducks on a cake. Why duck? Personal joke LOL!

I was suppose to collect the cake on the eve of his birthday but it was drizzling sigh... what luck. So I had to postponed it and could not make it to grab the cake on his eve.

And it was meant to be a surprise for him but he'd already know. Bah so boring LOL!

So on his birthday eve, I had dinner with him at Angus Steakhouse @ Pavilion. Just for fun, I bought him a small Tiramisu cake. Only the day after, I got him the real cake and sang him his birthday song.

Yeah, I KNOW right... Like F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! LOL!

So many pictures, and we have to pick 200 pictures for the studio to develop for us as this is already included in the package.

Hubby likes it... For me, OK lar. Maybe I'm too picky. I have complains that I will forward to the studio. I know it won't change anything, but I have my right to voice my opinion, so beat it.

Let me take my time to edit some of the pictures, and will upload it on FB and also my blog.

San Francisco Steakhouse

After our Ko Dai Lai (Delivery of Betrothal Gifts) on 12th September 2010, we feel that we deserve a good dinner to relax ourselves since the week after is our team ceremony. Desiring for Western food, we've decided to go San Francisco Steakhouse in KLCC.

Hen's Night @ Port Dickson - Part 2

The continuation from my previous post on my Hen's Night...

After dinner, we had a few rounds of games with "Cho dai dee" and Taboo. It was all laughs and alcohol! Check out the pictures:

The whole night lasted until about 5am. The heroines for the night were Tze and Leech who didn't sleep a blink that night! I dunno how they did it!

Since only 4 of us had breakfast, Lisa decided to use her GPS to search for a place for lunch. It's quite difficult as it is during the Raya season where almost everything is closed. Finally, found this place and settled with noodles and rice.

Looking back, it's been 2 months since this trip. It was so enjoyable and it was definitely an awesome times with the gfs.

Hen's Night @ Port Dickson

Continuing from this post on my Hen's Night (HN) in Sept...

My HN was during the long weekend of Hari Raya, which was 10-11 Sept 2010. Initially, we wanted to have it on 11-12 Sept 2010 but 12 Sept was the delivery of betrothal gift, so we have to bring it forward a day.

We met for brunch on the Friday afternoon for dim sum first. We didn't leave in the morning because we were waiting for Tze to touch down from her flight from Canada. I'm so touched that she actually flew back a day earlier than scheduled just so she can make it for the HN (muaks!). She will only be able to arrive at her house around 3pm and we were told to pick her up around 3.30pm. So we went for brunch first at Cheer's Palace in Cheras.

Pay attention to the dish in the middle - It is some banana pancake and it is absolutely heavenly! Totally recommended!

After picking Tze up from her place, we traveled to PD in 2 cars - YTzu's and Lisa's. We got there at about 5pm and checked in to our hotel, the Legend Water Chalet.

Upon check-in, the place was crowded. Can't blame anyone cos it is a long weekend and everyone is looking for a break. We had some trouble with the check in because the room we booked (which has 2 Queen beds) are all taken up. They "upgraded" us, to which we don't have a choice to disagree. This room is more expensive, but we are to settled with only 1 King bed. Only advantage is that this room is overlooking the sea.

After the elaborate check-in, we finally got our room. The reception suggested that we take the buggy service to our room because it is quite a long walk. Being our lazy selves and "jakun", we waited for the buggy and was driven to our room.

Check out our room! It is just amazing! When we walked in, it was the bathroom with a jacuzzi, shower, etc. Then another door to our room.

The room was a tad too tiny for the 6 of us, but the main thing is that we all get to be together in a room.

Lisa, Leech & I

By the time we settled down, it was almost dinner time. Between deciding to drive out again to look for a place for dinner vs having dinner in hotel itself. We were reluctant to go out of the hotel as it is the Raya holidays, and most restaurants are close, or they charge us ridiculously. Finally, we decided to go for the buffet dinner in the restaurant.

The varieties are quite extensive, and they included some Raya tidbits and food as well. Taste is not great great, but acceptable. I like the lemang and the rendang chicken though. Yummy!

After dinner, we decided to walk back to our room instead of the buggy service. Check out the view! These are the chalets of the hotel we stay in. This is taken from outside looking towards the hotel. Our room is at the other end.

This is the walkway back to our room. The surrounding was just so serene and relaxing. It really did take my mind off the wedding for a while. Ahh~~ I miss this.

Return from Penang

I'm back from another trip! This time, it's just a short trip to Penang.

Now everyone might be thinking that we have been on trip-spree. LOL! Not exactly the truth because this trip has been planned by hubby's friends about 2 months back.

It has been yet another enjoyable trip - Loads of laughs and food. Incredible companions!

Of course I have pictures, but won't be able to do anything yet cos I'm still arranging the pictures from Europe trip, and also my wedding pictures.

My new camera - Sony HX5V

Introducing my new toy - the SONY HX5V

Now, some of you might be thinking why did I get this new camera when I've already gotten a Canon DSLR. Well, I have always kept my Canon digital camera in my bag for instant and convenience use. Although this Canon Ixus has been a loyal companion for years, the quality of the images are not as good anymore, and is getting worse. Even using the editing software can't help improve the look of the images taken from this Canon Ixus.

So, I told hubby that I want to change a new camera, and finally, he has agreed. I was thinking of getting the Canon G11, but hubby said it's too bulky to be carried around in my clutch/wristlet, and thus, beating the main reason of us getting a new camera in the first place.

Then, my next choice was the Lumix LX3, but I can't get it because it has exceeded my budget although the images are very impressive.

And by luck, we walked into Sony, and was introduced to the Sony HX5v, and was totally hooked.

Some of the major specifications that are special are:

• Optical SteadyShot (Active Mode)
• 10x Optical zoom
• Built-in GPS and Compass
• Handheld Twilight
• Intelligent Sweep Panorama

I totally love the panorama function! It's the function that I used the most, and it gives a brilliant fish eye effect. Another one attractive feature is the HD movie recording. This will be a great addition to our DSLR since we don't have this in our DSLR. And you should really try their Handheld Twilight is just awesome! The images taken during low light area looks fabulous!

This camera comes in 2 colors, which are silver and black, and I've only got my eyes fixed on the black one. The outlet in Berjaya Times Square was sold out, and we made a call to the Curve and KLCC. The one at the Curve was also sold out, so we had to make our way to KLCC just to get the one in black. Hey, I'll be using this camera for at least another 3 years, it might as well be the color that I want.

This camera was selling at RM1299, but they were having a promotion where we trade in any camera or any mobile phone, they will deduct RM300 from us. And we do have a very old mobile phone in our house that has been quite a waste. So we traded that in, and this camera costs us RM999. And they allow us to do EPP without upfront charges or any additional charges.

I bought this about a week prior to my Hen's Night in September, and have already used it a couple of times. So far, I've been pretty satisfied with is. Will upload the pictures from this camera in the future.
